Mount Rushmore

This year for our "girls' trip" all the moms took the kids to South Dakota! It can be stressful keeping track of everyone, getting them to listen and navigating a new place, but we managed to squeeze in a lot of fun. Here's all that we were able to check off of our list:
- Cosmos Mystery Area for some nauseating fun
- Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse with kids in matching t-shirts
- Kept all kids hydrated and cool during record 100+ degree highs
- Crazy Horse and Native American Museum
- Chairlift and alpine slide
- Ice cream cones
- Touring a gold mine, a nice chance to cool off
- Swimming in the pool
- Falling asleep at the dinner table (Tim)
- Conquering switch backs and winding roads on scenic route 16 in a huge 12 passenger van
- Windy and dusty jeep ride through Custer State Park to see the buffalo, coyotes, turkeys, burros, prairie dogs, antelope, and the newest baby deer
- Visiting and being disappointed by Four Mile Old West Town
- Getting our money's worth at Bear Country, at least 30 bears wondering around along with other animals and getting to see a group of tiny, active baby bears getting some lunch
- Chuckwagon Dinner pulled by horses
- Hotel dance party before bed time
- Dinosaur Museum with life-size models and a funny mirror maze
- The Reptile Gardens where they got to touch a snake and giant roaming tortoises
- Storybook Island playground
- Western family photos (check out Tim's face)
- Dinner at a old time diner finished with ice cream sundaes
