Happy Holidays

Before leaving town, we had our own little Christmas and opened the presents we had under our tree. It was a nice lazy day having fun with the kids and getting ready for our upcoming trip. It was a bumpy start to our holiday travels (it was no smoother going home) with cancellations and extended layovers, but we eventually made it to Texas for Christmas. First up was an ice show at the Gaylord. We all bundled up and braved the crowds. The kids and cousins had fun checking out the sculptures and going down the ice slide. Then we had lunch and went on an elf hunt. The next day was the usual Christmas Eve chaos with pictures, mass, dinner and presents. Christmas morning was fun and our kids were even patient enough to wait for the other families to arrive before diving into all that Santa left. Though they did manage to sneak downstairs and dump out their stockings before anyone knew they were awake! We spent the rest of Christmas day being lazy and exploring all our new gifts. The next day was my birthday and, after lunch and cake, Adam took me out for a nice dinner and drinks. On the 27th, my mom took the girls and I for a special trip to the American Girl store. The girls got to shop and use some gift cards and then have lunch with their dolls. We had time to squeeze in trips to Mark and Lindy's houses too, did a little extra shopping along the way and the girls ransacked my mom's closet and put on another fashion show. We all struggled with colds and pink eye during our time off and are still recovering. We all feel pretty rested and are ready for 2017! And the girls are excited to head back to school!
