Progress Report - 32wks

I had a couple appointments this week. First up was my 32 week ultrasound. I was a little anxious/terrified going into this appointment because it was at this same time when Lucas was diagnosed with hydrops and I delivered him days later. Thankfully, all looks good this go around. The baby is still measuring 2-3 weeks ahead. My kids have always had little peanut heads so it was surprising to know that at this ultrasound and the one 4 weeks prior, baby's head measured in the 100th percentile! Maybe I should be glad I don't have to naturally deliver this baby?! It was still tough to see the baby's face because its hand were covering it (and so was a foot). But check out these shots the ultrasound tech was able to get. I've never seen such clear pictures. Obviously, I think he/she is the cutest thing ever! The girls thought it was pretty neat to see that too.

The baby is moving and shifting all the time. The biggest movements are in the evenings which can make sitting and working at the computer very uncomfortable. My back is starting to bother me now and I don't get much sleep at night. I'm still hot and puffy too. The temperatures are starting to come down a little so hopefully 100 degree days are behind us. Until then, cold showers are my only relief!

I've definitely entered my nesting phase and have everything pretty much ready to go. I still need to wash a bunch of things, but that can wait until later. I've also started getting my hospital bag together. I have to keep reminding Adam that although this may be a scheduled c-section, it's still possible that I could go into labor on my own. Better to be prepared!

I also had a regular OB check-up and continued to ask more questions about the c-section. I may have had 2 before, but I've never had this much time to think/worry about it! We're closer to narrowing down a delivery day and are just waiting to hear back about the hospital's schedule. I still appointments every 2 weeks and another ultrasound at 36 weeks.

The girls had their own exciting things going on in the last week or so. Maggie started gymnastics and Hadley her ballet/tap combo class. So far they are both really enjoying it and were excited to get going. It's nice that they'll have their own thing. Once school starts, they'll go on mornings when the other is in school so it will be time all to themselves and with mommy. As much as I would have liked at least 1 day to myself/to hang with the new baby, I'm looking forward to having them home on opposite days. It will be really different having time with each of them individually, but a great way to reconnect and focus on them.
