Now that our family has gone, we're settling back into our old routine but in a new frame of mind. It's been strange not to head to the hospital each morning, but I've found myself going to the cemetery most days to be with Lucas. The day after his burial I took a nap on the grass next to my little guy. It was a beautiful sunny day and I could feel him there with me. The cemetery sits between the hospital and arboretum on campus. It's a beautiful place and there is a lot to watch and see. There are always squirrels, deer and woodchucks running around. And just to make me feel a little more comfortable with the quiet, there's almost always a chipmunk nearby chirping a song that sounds similar to the beeps in Lucas' hospital room.

Obviously, Lucas meant the world to us and we miss him so much. His impact on our lives was huge and, this past weekend, it was amazing to see how many other people he touched. Just before the national anthem at Michigan's homecoming football game, an announcement was made to over 100,000 fans requesting a moment of silence in honor of Lucas. The players, coaches and football staff wore decals with his initials too. There was also mention of it during television coverage which Hadley was excited to hear. Adam got extra stickers and plans to wear them on the sidelines to all the games for the rest of the season. Our little guy is always on our minds and in our hearts wherever we go.
